African rings are not made by many jewelers. African Jewelers work very differently to jewellers in Europe. In South Africa jewelers tend to be multi skilled and try to do the whole job in house. In Europe jewelers tend to specialise in one aspect of jewelry. With such a diverse nation of cultures and tribes it is often difficult to specialise. One thing that all South African goldsmiths share is the high caliber of work. Several universities teach jewellery manufacture – but the old system of apprentices is till alive and well. Knowledge and techniques are passed down to young jewellers. Our African rings are made in silver and gold and sometimes titanium.
